RESOLUTION of April 20, 2021, of the Directorate of the Higher Institute of Artistic Education of the Valencian Community, by which the entrance exams to higher artistic education are convened for the 2021-2022 academic year.

 

Due to current circumstances, both the dates and the development of the tests may be subject to modification if the health emergency due to COVID requires it.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS

To access the official teachings leading to the Higher Degree in Dance, it is necessary to meet some academic requirements and pass the specific access test:

Academic requirements:

It is essential to be in possession of one of the three academic requirements that are presented below:

1. Bachelor's degree.

2. Certificate of passing the university entrance exam for people over 25 years of age.

3. Certificate of passing the specific test for people without academic requirements.

 

If you do not have the necessary academic requirements (Bachelor's Degree or University Access Test for those over 25 years old), you must take a specific test common to all higher artistic education before taking the specific test of the Superior Conservatory of Dance of Alicante.

 

(*) PREPARATION COURSE FOR ACCESS TESTS TO HIGHER ARTISTIC TEACHINGS 2021

TEST FOR PEOPLE WITHOUT ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS (Art. 69.5 LOE)

 

Directed only for students without a Bachelor's Degree or University Access Test for those over 25 years of age.

Application deadline : from May 10 to May 25, 2021

Documentation to provide : completed application, payment of the fee and original and photocopy of the DNI.

Test date :   June 2, 2021 (single call).

Venue: Superior Conservatory of Music of Alicante

Time: 8.30 am

 

IMPORTANT : once the registration is completed, the payment of the fees has been made, and the documentation has been sent to ISEACV ( inscriptions6 email 9.5@iseacv.es ) , it is mandatory to send and submit via email the receipt of the payment of the fees in this email electronic csdalicante@gmail.com (Superior Conservatory of Dance of Alicante).

 

Test structure:  

The test will consist of the following parts:

First part: Hª del Arte. Exercise written from a given text and images related to the content of the text. From a text on Art History (in Valencian and Spanish) and two images related to the text, students will have to answer several closed-response questions (multiple choice) and open-response questions related to the text.
 
Second part: To choose between the Valencian Language or the Spanish Language. Exercises on linguistic aspects and reading comprehension, from a given text. Based on an artistic-themed text, various questions will be asked about grammar, spelling and vocabulary.
 
Third part: Foreign language, to choose between English or French. Exercises on linguistic aspects and reading comprehension, from a given text. Based on an artistic-themed text, various questions will be asked about grammar, spelling and vocabulary.

SPECIFIC ACCESS TEST

There are two calls for this test, in July and in September 2021.

Application deadline :

  • 1st call: from May 17 to July 12, 2021
  • 2nd call: from July 20 to September 6, 2021
  • Link for registration (open from July 20 to September 6, 2021)

Documentation to provide : completed application, payment of the fee, original and photocopy of the Bachelor's Degree and original and photocopy of the DNI.

Test date :

  • 1st Call: July 13 and 14, 2021
  • 2nd Call: September 7 and 8, 2021 (as long as there are vacancies left).

IMPORTANT : The average grade of the Professional Dance Education record will constitute 50% of the grade of the specific access test, in the case of being in possession of the Professional Dance Title. (It is mandatory to attach the academic certificate stating the average grade on the day of the entrance exam).

IMPORTANT : to obtain a scholarship in the first year of these studies, it will be necessary to have obtained at least 6.50 points in the specific access test, as well as the specific requirements established by the Ministry of Education (pending publication of the requirements of the call 2021/2022).

IMPORTANT: once the registration is finished and the payment of the fees has been made, it is mandatory to send and submit via email the receipt of the payment of the fees in this email csdalicante@gmail.com (Conservatorio Superior de Danza de Alicante).

SPECIFIC ACCESS TEST FOR FOREIGN RESIDENTS (NEW)

In response to the RESOLUTION of April 20, 2021, of the Directorate of the Higher Institute of Artistic Education of the Valencian Community, by which the access tests to higher artistic education are convened for the 2021-2022 academic year. ANNEX II.3 indicates that:

The center will enable the appropriate mechanisms for the completion of the test by those foreign applicants who have previously requested it.

The Alicante Higher Conservatory of Dance details the registration procedure and development of the test for this group.

 

  1. Enrollments

Registrations will be made electronically following the general instructions, that is, filling in the form and submitting documents that can be accessed at the following link

At the time of sending the requested documentation to csdalicante@gmail.com the applicant must state in the subject that the registration is for a specific access test for people residing abroad.

The original documentation will be compared with that received by email at the center, when the applicant completes the final phase of the tests that will be carried out in the center in person.

The non-veracity of the documentation presented will be grounds for cancellation of the access test.

The registration deadlines correspond to the general deadlines reported on the web for the rest of the access tests.

 

Documentation for registration

The documentation to be provided by email regarding the registration will be the following:

  • Completed application,
  • Original (to be provided upon arrival at the center) and a photocopy of the approved Bachelor's Degree or with the Hague Apostille
  • Original (to be provided upon arrival at the center) and a photocopy of the verified DNI or NIE.
  • Fee payment: If the applicant is not in possession of the NIE, they can use the passport to generate the payment of fees in form 046 (a form with the center's NIF will be automatically generated)
  • Sending of the proposed material for the tests of the initial phase:
    • Curriculum vitae, where the educational and professional artistic development is detailed, duly accredited
    • Audiovisual recordings requested in the practical test

NOTE: the documents will be sent scanned by email to the center ( csdalicante@gmail.com ) and later they will be provided in person at the center in the final phase of the access test.

  1. Access test

The test will consist of two phases, one telematics (initial phase) and another face-to-face (final phase).

Initial phase

Structure and content of the specific dance access test will consist of three parts:

First part:

Carrying out a comment and written analysis on a text related to dance and proposed by the court, in which maturity, analytical skills, associated knowledge and the study of the context, which may be derived from the text, will be assessed. . It will represent 30% of the final grade.

Second part:

Practical test that will represent 60% of the final grade.

a) Carrying out a practical dance technique class of the style chosen by the applicant.

b) The applicant will bring prepared a variation or free choreography, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes. The completion of this part of the test will be optional, depending on the court's consideration.

Third part:

Presentation and defense before the court of a report that will deal with their training, professional life, interests, expectations and concerns about higher studies in dance. It will represent 10% of the final grade. The average grade of the professional studies record will constitute 50% of the grade of the specific access test, in the case of being in possession of the Professional Dance Title provided that this grade is beneficial for the calculation of the final grade. The center will enable the appropriate mechanisms to carry out the test by those applicants residing abroad who have previously requested it.

Final phase

Passing the initial phase entails pre-acceptance by the Higher Conservatory of Dance of Alicante, in the absence of the definitive passing of the test that will be carried out in person at the center:

  • With the verification of the original documents by the administration.
  • And the face-to-face demonstration of bodily competence in the selected dance technique, if the court deems it necessary.

Important information

Students who have been eligible in the specific test held on July 10, 2020, will have to register for the specific test that will be held at the Superior Conservatory of Dance on July 22 and 23, 2020 or September 14 and 15, 2020.
